Multi-Family Bonds

Program and Process

Multi-family bonds are used to assist with financing rental developments. All AHFC multi-family, bond-financed, projects must be S.M.A.R.T. Housing certified before presentation to the AHFC Board for final approval. For more information contact Kelly Hunt at 974-3103.

Multi-family bonds typically fall into two categories:

• 501 (C)3 Bonds: May be executed at any time to finance projects for non-profit developers.
• Private Activity Volume Cap Bonds: Awarded through the Texas Bond Review Board (TBRB) and are eligible to receive four percent Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) awarded by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA).
