Outdoor Installations on view March - December 2009 throughout the City of Austin
This year Austin’s Art in Public Places Program has partnered with the Texas Biennial, commissioning seven Texas artists to create temporary outdoor public artwork for the exhibition. The official opening weekend of the Texas Biennial is March 6-7, 2009, and will feature works from artists around the state in various locations. The temporary outdoor public art will be installed from March through December, 2009.

Ken Little, “Homeland Security,” sited in the clearing between Doug Sahm Hill in Butler Park and the Palmer Events; #18 on the audio tour
Bill Davenport, “Mushroom Grove,” sited in the west end of Auditorium Shores, near Ladybird Lake Hike and Bike Trail; #15 on the audio tour
Colin McIntyre, “Emergence,” sited on a landscaped mound on the west side of Butler Park, near the parking lot next to the Dougherty Arts Center; #19 on the audio tour
Ryah Christensen, “Door/Not Door,” sited in parkland near the east-side Hike and Bike Trail, just south of Nash Hernandez Road; #14 on the audio tour

Sasha Dela, “Variegated Continuum,” sited at the Mexican-American Cultural Center; #16 on the audio tour
