SUMMARY

For our 2004 risk assessment project, we assessed risk levels for one-third of City departments. Business areas assessed this year include CIP Management Services, Enterprise Services, Management Services, the Public Information Office, and the Office of the City Clerk.

Our results are intended to show where there may be greater impact if significant problems emerge, and thus serve as a focusing tool for targeting limited audit and management resources in the areas of greatest need.

In addition to identifying activities with higher risk ratings, we identified crosscutting themes that emerged through the course of our work. This information should provide focus for additional attention through audit projects or management focus.

The results of this assessment will be considered along with other input, including information on the most recent budget changes underway for FY 2005, in developing OCA’s 2005 performance plan.
