Record year with passengers nearing 8.9 million
at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
December 2007 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic report
ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
December 2007
Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for December 2007 was 720,490, up 5% compared to December 2006. December 2007 enplanements totaled 375,622, up 5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 244,413, up 5% compared to December 2006; American Airlines passengers totaled 195,599, up 0.06%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 87,067, up 4%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers totaled 59,413, up 3%; United Airlines (including SkyWest and Mesa) passengers totaled 30,605, down 9%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 22,117, down 24%; Northwest Airlines (including Mesaba Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 20,138, up 3%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 19,210, up 3%; ExpressJet totaled 18,918; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 17,289, up 22%; Aeromexico totaled 2,234.
December 2007 air cargo totaled 17,054,704 lbs., down 16% compared to December 2006. International air cargo totaled 392,617 lbs., up 22%. Federal Express carried 8 million lbs., down 25.5%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 3.3 million lbs., down 15.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.4 million lbs., down 7.5%.
Air Services 246,823 lbs. of mail, down 31.5%; and 1.8 million lbs. of belly freight, down 6%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 5,841, up 3%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 17,515, up 8%.
January –December 2007 Year-to-Date
Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – December YTD was 8,885,391, up 7.5% compared to January – December 2006. January – December 2007 enplanements totaled 4,552,481, up 8%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 2,998,508, up 3.5%; American Airlines (including Trans States Airlines) passengers totaled 2,408,201, up 5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 1,044,341, up 4%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, Mesa, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers 803,611, up 20%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, and Mesa) passengers totaled 425,282, down 11%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 279,789, up 2%; Northwest Airlines (including Mesaba Airlines Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 250,907, up 2%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 238,710, up 8%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 219,484, up 20%. ExpressJet totaled 173,977 passengers. Aeromexico totaled 27,102 passengers.
December YTD (January – December 2007) air cargo totaled 210,775,763 lbs., down 8%. International air cargo totaled 4,947,377 lbs., up 20%. Federal Express carried 105.1 million lbs., down 14%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 36 million lbs., down 1.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 32.7 million lbs., up 7%.
Air Services transferred 4,438,162 lbs., of mail, down 32% and 23,201,503 million lbs., of belly freight, down 3%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 74,867 for January – December YTD, down 6.5%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 214,440, up 2.5%.
