March 2008 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
March 2008

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for March 2008 was 796,373, up 4% compared to March 2007. March 2008 enplanements totaled 407,300, up 20.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 280,504, up 5% compared to March 2007; American Airlines passengers totaled 203,937, down 0.2%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 85,117, down 10%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers totaled 60,473, down 18%; United Airlines (including SkyWest and Mesa) passengers totaled 44,832, up 17%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 25,523, up 3%.; Express Jet Airlines passengers totaled 23,295; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 21,345, up 1%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 21,085, up 6.5%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 20,053, down 2.5%.; Midwest Airlines passengers totaled 4,775; Aeromexico totaled 2,189 passengers up 23.5%.

March 2008 air cargo totaled 17,334,623 lbs., up 34.5% compared to March 2007. International air cargo totaled 350,316 down 28%. Federal Express carried 8.5 million lbs., up 131.5%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 3.1 million lbs., up 2%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.6 million lbs., down 8%.

Air Services transferred 452,153 lbs of mail, down 5.5%; and 1.7 million lbs. of belly freight, down 20%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 6,343 up 5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 18,645, up 8 %.

January – March 2008 Year-to-Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – March YTD was 2,108,821, up 6.5% compared to January – March 2007. January – March 2008 enplanements totaled 1,073,748, up 7%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 738,373, up 7%; American Airlines passengers totaled 552,859, up 3.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 241,625, up 0.2%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers 136,202, down 30%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, and Mesa) passengers totaled 101,797, up 7%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 67,462, up 2%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 56,087, down 4.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 55,342, up 12.5%; Express Jet Airlines passengers totaled 54,726; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 53,5559, up 16.5%. Midwest Airlines passengers totaled 10,562; Aeromexico totaled 5,576 passengers, up 28%.

March YTD (January – March 2008) air cargo totaled 53,445486 lbs., up 14%. International air cargo totaled 1,214,606 lbs., up 1%. Federal Express carried 26.4 million lbs., up 20%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 9.4 million lbs., up 22.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 7.8 million lbs., down 0.1%.

Air Services transferred 1,432,470 lbs of mail, down 2%; and 5.3 million lbs. of belly freight, down 11%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 18,659 for January – March YTD, up 8%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 54,636, up 13%.
