May 2008 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
May 2008

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for May 2008 was 826,192 up 5.5% compared to May 2007. May 2008 enplanements totaled 425,488, up 4%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 286,125, up 6% compared to May 2007; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 205,514, down 3.8%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 85,405, down 10%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers totaled 65,294, up 0.6%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 37,913, up 74%; United Airlines (including SkyWest and Mesa) passengers totaled 34,598, down 13%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 30,213, up 41%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers 26,067, up 23%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 18,568, down 5%; Express Jet Airlines passengers totaled 14,481, up 20%; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 11,020; Midwest Airlines passengers totaled 4,283; Air Canada passengers totaled 2,686; Aeromexico totaled 1,423 passengers down 19%.

May 2008 air cargo totaled 17,380,912 lbs., down 6% compared to May 2007. International air cargo totaled 413,083 down 9.5%. Federal Express carried 8.4 million lbs., down 15.5%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 3.3 million lbs., up 28%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.6 million lbs., down 13%.

Air Services transferred 603,367 lbs of mail, up 65.5%; and 1.7 million lbs. of belly freight, down 11%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 6,764 up 4%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 19,346, up 4 %.

January – May 2008 Year-to-Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – May YTD was 3,682,522, up 5.5% compared to January – May 2007. January – May 2008 enplanements totaled 1,881,726 up 5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,296,350, up 7%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 944,761, down 0.3 %; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 414,187, down 2%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest Airlines, Shuttle America, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines) passengers 297,310, down 7.5%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, and Mesa) passengers totaled 168,549, down 2%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 120,212, up 8%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 113,442, up 23.5%; Northwest Airlines (including Pinnacle Airlines) passengers totaled 103,068, up 3%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 89,817, up 9.5%; Express Jet Airlines passengers totaled 82,319, up 453%; Midwest Airlines passengers totaled 18,959; vivaAerobus passengers totaled 11,020; Aeromexico totaled 7,874 passengers, up 4.5%; Air Canada passengers totaled 2,686.

May YTD (January – May 2008) air cargo totaled 89,140,387 lbs., up 8%. International air cargo totaled 2,081,858 lbs., up 0.6%. Federal Express carried 43.6 million lbs., up 6%; ABX Air, Inc. carried 16 million lbs., up 24.5%; and United Parcel Service carried 13.7 million lbs., up 1%.

Air Services transferred 2,544,031 lbs of mail, up 10.5%; and 8.9 million lbs. of belly freight, down 8%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 32,3662 for January – May YTD, up 6%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 92,850, up 10%.
