CAREER
The Mayor and City Council appointed Ms. Spence Deputy City Clerk in November, 2001. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Spence served four years as Manager, Customer Service, in the Information Resources Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Austin. Ms. Spence has also worked in the private sector, serving eight years as Manager, Records Management, at Sallie Mae Student Loan Corporation in Killeen, Texas. Ms. Spence manages the OCC’s Research/Records Division supervising three full-time employees.

Ms. Spence has lived in Texas since 1988, but is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She is married with two daughters and two granddaughters. She enjoys playing golf and running and completed the Motorola Marathon in 2004.
