Hours are extended on Council meeting days.

City Hall is a public building used primarily for City business and related activities. Visitors are welcome at City Hall anytime during normal business hours. Free WiFi is available. City Hall is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Security
Visitors to City Hall will be required to pass through a screening station at either the north or south entrance. Place your belongings, such as cell phones, purses, backpacks and briefcases in the package scanner and then walk through the metal detector. Weapons of any type are not allowed inside City Hall, including ceremonial weapons.

Room Reservations

The entrance to the parking garage is on Lavaca Street on the east side of City Hall, just past the loading dock. Upon entering the garage, look for the signs that say “Public” which will guide you to the public parking area. Take a ticket at the booth and find parking anywhere on P1, P2 or P3. Be sure to take your ticket with you to get it validated inside (not necessary on Council meeting days).

Parking Validation
Complimentary parking is available for visitors to City of Austin departments at City Hall. Bring your ticket inside with you to get your validation stamp on it.

Parking is free on City Council meeting days. Parking is also free on certain Fridays between 11:30 and 1:30 p.m. for the Live From The Plaza concerts.

If you are visiting a City department, present your ticket to the department receptionist for a validation stamp. If you are attending a board or commission meeting, the meeting liaison will stamp your ticket.

City-sponsored events at City Hall that offer complimentary parking will make special arrangements to stamp your ticket at the event.

The City Hall retail tenants and 2nd Street District stores and restaurants can provide a validation stamp for two hours of complimentary parking on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a purchase. Retail district validation is not available on Saturdays and Sundays.
