Common Ground Working Paper
The Common Ground Working Paper synthesizes and summarizes the results of the Open House, Community Forum Series #1, initial survey, and Meetings-in-a-Box. "Common Ground" is a first step toward identifying potential elements in a Vision Statement for the future of Austin.
Release & Review Process
Current Draft
The current draft of the Common Ground Working Paper includes results of the public meetings, survey, and Meetings-in-a-Box through late March, 2010. It was prepared for the Task Force to use during its April review of the Vision statement.
Second Draft
The current draft of the Common Ground Working Paper includes results of the public meetings, survey, and Meetings-in-a-Box through February 1, 2010. It was prepared for the Task Force to use during its March 9, 2010, Visioning exercise. This draft will be updated again after the first phase of public input closes on March 31, 2010.
After the final draft is released, public comments will be accepted for at least two weeks. These comments will shape how the Working Paper is used in refining the Vision Statement. Because of this, the Common Ground Working Paper will not be revised after its April release.
First Draft
The first draft of the Working Paper, posted on December 2, 2009, is a preliminary draft primarily intended for the Comprehensive Plan Citizens Advisory Task Force and is still in development. More results will be included in its analysis throughout December and into January, 2010, April 2010, when a final Working Paper will be presented to the Task Force and released to the public.
