By creating more recognition for outstanding preservation projects and preservationists, the Heritage Society hopes to inspire others to carry on the important work of safeguarding Austin’s heritage.” “I’m honored to be recognized by the Heritage Society,” Council Member Leffingwell said. “I’m very interested in continuing the work we’ve already begun on crafting local historic districts to help neighborhoods protect older, unique homes from demolition. I also plan to continue working to preserve Capitol View Corridors that add to the city’s unique aesthetic beauty.” The awards luncheon takes place from 11:30 AM -1:30 PM at the Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin.
