Driskill Hotel - 6th Street & Brazos Street CIP 825-607-2086
Summary
This project includes the construction of curb ramps and sidewalk improvements needed to meet compliance obligations under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. The curb ramp work in the Central Business District is the highest priority work towards making Austin an accessible city.
Status
The project is about 95% complete. The work continues on the Brazos side of the Driskill Hotel. All areas are almost complete. All areas still need the trees and shrubs.
Description
The west side of the intersection at 6th and Brazos, particularly the Driskill Hotel corner, needs to be brought into alignment with the rest of 6th Street. This project will entail regrading sidewalk, improving affected utilities, repaving the sidewalks, and significant ADA work. In addition, four alley entrances in the vicinity will be improved, as well as the southwest corner of the intersection.
