Summary

This project is to modify the sidewalk in the 200 block of Congress Avenue to be ADA accessible and to match the rest of Congress Avenue with granite pavers, tress and diagonal parking.
Map of Project Area

Status

The project was bid on July 9, 1998 and awarded to Austin Filter Systems on October 7, 1998. Construction and utility delays extended completion date to the end of July. The project is complete, except for the tree planting, which will be done in the fall.

Issues

The business operators requested that we do not reduce the number parking spaces for this construction. Additional funding is required to compensate property owners for relocation of driveways, so that we can provide the landscaping and the same number of parking spaces.

Description

This project is to relocate the curbs in the 200 block of Congress Avenue, to construct sidewalks, and to match the traffic lanes to those farther north on Congress Avenue. Tree wells and automatic watering systems are also included in this project.
