South 1st Street
Summary
This project will widen S. 1st Street from Riverside Drive to 500' south
of Barton Springs Road. Originally these improvements were included in
the S. 1st St. Bridge project (TxDOT). The roadway improvements (upgrade
from 4 to 6 lanes with intersection improvements) was awarded on
September 14, 1995 to BRH-Garver as a City project. This project will
improve traffic flow and safety.
Status
The project is being constructed in five phases. Phase IV has been
completed, and Phase V started April 19, 1996. The total project should
be completed by May 31, 1996.
