Street Reconstruction, Overlay and Utility Improvements
San Jacinto and Lavaca Streets
Summary
The projects will provide for the reconstruction, pavement overlay, and water and wastewater improvements of various downtown streets.
Status
- San Jacinto Street: The design is complete; construction is
scheduled for spring 1997
- Lavaca Street: Construction is to start mid-September and is
expected to take 6 months to complete.
Description
Planned improvements include repair of pavement failures, construction of concrete bus pads, construction of sidewalk ramps, and overlay and striping of the streets, in addition to replacement of old and/or shallow water and wastewater lines. Construction limits for each of the streets are:
- San Jacinto Street: 6th - 9th
- Lavaca: 11th - MLK
