Susan Monahan and her husband Mark
Brucks have surrounded their Rosedale home with a Central Texas
cottage garden.
Limiting their lawn area to the
back yard, the front yard consists of asian jasmine groundcover
surrounded by native and adapted plants nestled around limestone
rocks.

This "vegetative strip" between
two driveways allows water to soak into the ground for use
on the property rather than run off down the street. |
 Avid
cooks, Susan and Mark have made use of all available sunlight...this
tomato and herb garden is hidden behind their garage.
