2006 - 6302 Sprucewood Cove

As
you drive to the end of this quiet cul-de-sac, you approach the
Green Garden created by Jennifer and Chris Koch.

Hoping to create a low maintenance, low water use landscape,
they planted cactus and yucca plants and then interspersed
them with limestone borders and rock spheres. They’ve
used crushed granite for the mulch.

The view from the front porch allows them to watch the birds
and wildlife that are attracted to their birdbath.
The Koch’s are continuing
to make their home and yard environmentally-friendly. They’ve
added a butterfly alley on the side of the house and plan to
create a Wildlife Habitat of their all-native back yard. They
are adding a new cool roof and are installing rain chains to
direct rooftop runoff to their rainbarrels. After
watching Central Texas Gardner on KLRU for almost a year
- Jennifer
and Chris decided to take action. They wanted to create a
Native Texas Landscape and looked to John Dromgoole at The
Natural Gardner for advice.
