City Hosts 6th Annual NeighborFestFor Immediate ReleaseMay 14, 2004
The City of Austin's Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Office is hosting their 6th Annual NeighborFest in the Colony Park neighborhood this Saturday (May 15). Austin residents will have the opportunity to learn of an array of services the City offers in both an educational and entertaining environment at no charge. With collaboration from City departments and for- and non-profit organizations, NeighborFest 2004 is a place where families can learn about important topics like lead poisoning prevention, auto theft prevention tips and credit counseling. As an added bonus, NeighborFest will have plenty of activities for children to enjoy like face painting, entertainment by a clown and free food for the entire family. Participants can also register to win a free ceiling fan and gift baskets and other door prizes will be drawn every half hour. This year's NeighborFest will be held rain or shine on May 15, at Barbara Jordan Elementary located at 6711 Johnny Morris Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by The Laredo National Bank. The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request. Please call 974-3100 (voice) or 974-3102 (TDD) for assistance.
