FREE Homebuyer Fair scheduled for July 31

Austin, Texas: The City of Austin/Austin Housing Finance Corporation and Austin Energy are hosting the 2004 Homebuyer Fair. The Homebuyer Fair will provide Austin residents, particularly those in the Montopolis area, with a free opportunity to learn about the steps necessary to facilitate the process of buying a home.

The City, AHFC and Austin Energy are working together to develop up to 100 new single-family homes that feature photovoltaic solar panels; this means, we are creating homes that will not only be affordable, but also energy-efficient, in the Montopolis neighborhood. This "Zero-Energy" subdivision is one of the first of its kind in the nation.

Saturday, July 31, 2004

10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Over 40 organizations ranging from lending institutions, City departments, consumer credit counseling agencies and non-profits have been invited to promote their services to the community. Kids activities, door prizes, educational seminars and information will all be available to participants
