Volunteer Trainers Needed
The Internet Training Center at the Riverside Drive Branch invites you to join its team of volunteer Internet instructors. Free classes are offered at the branch every Saturday from 1-3 p.m. and occasionally on weekday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Classes are small, five to ten students, and are offered on different levels. Class topics include Introduction to the Internet, e-mail, and Web Browsers. Most classes have an instructor and an aide to assist students.
Volunteers should have a high school diploma, good interpersonal skills, and be familiar with the World Wide Web. New instructors are asked to attend orientation and serve as a class aide while learning the curriculum. Volunteers are asked to commit to one to two classes a month, and maintain good communication with Library staff.
