Marlow Moore (Princess Winnifred) will sing two songs from the show and Nathan Parsons (Ensemble) will read the original Hans Christian Andersen story, "The Princess and the Pea." A drawing for free tickets for a family of four will be held for those present.

Austin Musical Theatre will receive ten percent of all Zany Brainy sales that day when customers request the AMT discount. If the clerk asks you for a phone number, it's 428-9696, but the "AMT DISCOUNT" should work just fine. It's a great store — you'll find plenty to buy for yourself and the other kids in your life!

About the Austin Musical Theatre

Once upon a time, Austin Musical Theatre's Performing Arts Academy created an opportunity for performers ages 9-17 to have a professional production all their own. For this cast and crew of 47, the fantasy has become a reality with the Second Annual Musical Theatre Production Workshop, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. Adapted from the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale, this musical rendition of The Princess and the Pea features songs made famous by the great Carol Burnett ("Shy" and "The Swamps of Home"). With a cast led by Marlow Moore as the rough-edged Princess Winnifred, Michael Crouch as the naïve and love-struck Prince Dauntless, and Sean McGibbon (fresh from his recent starring role as the Artful Dodger in Oliver!) as the Court Jester, this is a guaranteed must-see for everyone, 5 to 105 years young!

Founded in 1996, Austin Musical Theatre (AMT) is one of the largest, most exciting performing arts organizations in Austin. After an initial year in which the company presented Patti Lupone in a fundraising concert and offered its first Summer Workshops for children, AMT produced its first musical, PETER PAN, in January 1997 at the Paramount Theatre. Audience and critical response was so positive that the production was extended for an additional six performances, and the show won the year's Austin Critics Table Award for best musical. Children's workshops were expanded in summer 1997.
