PAST NEWS ARCHIVE Message mural for NYC available at Faulk Central Library The City of Austin Fire Department placed five large banners at various fire stations that citizens signed with words of condolence or appreciation for public safety personnel in New York City. The murals were up on September 25 and have been filled with signatures. The Faulk Central Library still has a mural for signing from the citizens of Austin. Donations may be given at fire stations and will be directed to the Public Employees Survivors' Fund, which recently was established by the City of Austin. The banners were donated by Message Murals, Inc. Customers wishing to sign the mural may stop by the John Henry Faulk Central Library, 800 Guadalupe Street, Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; and Sunday 12 noon-6:00 p.m. Citizens may stop by the fire stations listed below between noon and 7 p.m. to make donations; however, it is possible that firefighters could be at an emergency call and unavailable at any given time.
