Borders Benefit Days for the Friends of the Austin Public Library with Singer/Songwriter Tish Hinojosa

Saturday, June 29 & Sunday, June 30, 2002

Customers who present the Borders Benefit Days Certificate will be donating 15% of sales to the Friends of the Austin Public Library. The Benefits Days are at the North store, 10225 Research Blvd., and South Austin store, 4427 S. Lamar, on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, 2002. Proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Austin Public Library to help fund library programs and events. Please visit the Friends Special Events & News Web page at www.austinlibrary.org to print a copy of the Borders Benefits Days certificate, which must be presented for the proceeds to go the Friends of the Austin Public Library. As noted on the certificate, you might consider purchasing Bless Me, Ultima (Rudolfo Anaya) to take part in the Mayor's Book Club this summer.

Library and Friends guest, Tish Hinojosa, will perform at the Borders North store on Saturday, June 29, from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. She'll stay for a book, and cd signing from her newly book titled Cada Niño.

The Friends of the Austin Public Library is an organization that was started in 1962 by Mary Rice, then Library Director, and Eleanor Harris. The Friends is a group of volunteers dedicated to the support of the Austin Public Library. The purpose of the group is to enlarge the number of Austin citizens who take a profound interest in the Library's activities and to the promotion of reading and literacy in the community.
