Southeast Austin Community Branch Hosts Austin Writer Neil Barrett, Jr.
Austinite Neal Barrett, Jr. has written everything from historical novels to science fiction to comic books. He has written for children, teens, and adults. His books include; Tom Swift series novels, Batman comics and novelizations of movies (notably the 2000 release "Dungeons and Dragons"). On Monday, October 21, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. at the Southeast Austin Community Branch of the Austin Public Library, 5803 Nuckols Crossing Road you will have an opportunity to meet Neal Barrett Jr., hear him read from his works, and learn how to make writing your career. About the Author
Neal Barrett, Jr's novels (over fifty of them) and numerous short stories span the field from mystery/suspense, fantasy, science fiction and historical novels, to "off-the-wall" mainstream fiction. Reviewers have defined his work as "stories that defy any category or convention..."
His “author’s best” collection, “Perpetuity Blues,” was a finalist for the 2001 World Fantasy Award.
