Water Pipe Breaks at the JJ Pickle Elementary School located in the St. John Community Center
The St. John Branch of the Austin Public Library located in the St. John Community Center at 7500 Blessing Avenue will close this afternoon to repair a broken main water pipe. The water pipe broke in the JJ Pickle Elementary School portion of the Community Center. In order to make the necessary repairs all water was shut off in the Community Center which the Branch Library is part of. The Library will reopen tomorrow, December 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m.
About the St. John Branch
In January 2002 the opening of APL's St. John Branch in Northeast Austin, opened a whole new age for branch libraries. The branch is located within new, state-of-the-art community complex in historic St. John neighborhood which also houses the J.J. Pickle Elementary School, a recreation center, gymnasium, health center, and a community policing sub-station. The 20th branch location of the Austin Public Library-the staff are providing Library services and programs to the community.
