Celebrate Children’s Book Week at the Austin Public Library November 14-20, 2005
A celebration of the written word, Children's Book Week introduces young people to new authors and ideas in libraries, schools, homes and bookstores. Through Children's Book Week, the public library encourages young people and their caregivers to discover the complexity of the world beyond their own experience through books. Children's Book Week will be observed November 14-20, 2005.
The Austin Public Library will kick-off the celebration beginning Wednesday, November 9 and will continue with special programs throughout the following week.
- Harry and the Potters,nationally known touring rock group(for all ages), St. John Branch, 7500 Blessing Ave., Wednesday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m.
- Fisher Magic (for all ages), University Hills Branch, 4721 Loyola Lane, Thursday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m.
- Star Saturday featuring Jan Seides, award winning singer/songwriter (for all ages), Faulk Central Library, 800 Guadalupe, Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m.
- Harry Potter Party (for ages 5 and over), Milwood Branch, 12500 Amherst Dr., Saturday, November 12 at 3:00 pm.
- Harry Potter Party (for ages 5 and over) Little Walnut Creek Branch, 835 W. Rundberg Ln., Sunday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m.
