Austin History Center Association
21-year-old holiday tradition continues to grow
“ALL AUSTIN” HOLIDAY SALE AT THE AUSTIN HISTORY CENTER
AUSTIN, Texas – November 28, 2005 – Join the Austin History Center
Association at the Austin History Center, 810 Guadalupe Street, for holiday festivities and uniquely Austin gifts for
sale Saturday and Sunday, December 10th & 11th, 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m.. This holiday event is free and open to the
public. Those attending the Saturday event will have first choice of collectible Austin City Directories, yearbooks,
postcards, maps, antique frames, and photographs as well as the AHCA’s Waterloo Press books about Austin history;
note cards, postcards, and posters with historic Austin images. The Association is introducing a new “Congress
Avenue – Main Street of Texas” T-shirt and a new historic Congress Avenue postcard and note card this year.
Additionally, original paintings and prints featuring historic Austin scenes by local artist Mary Curtis will be
sold. All proceeds benefit the Austin History Center Association, which supports the Austin History Center, the
local history archives of the Austin Public Library.
In addition to making purchases at the “All Austin” Sale, guests may browse the 1933
Italian Renaissance Revival building decorated for the holidays, view exhibits, and enjoy holiday refreshments. The
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School Select Singers will perform holiday music Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
The Austin History Center Association has hosted annual holiday events at the Austin
History Center in the handsome historic 1933 Italian Renaissance building since 1984, and this 21-year-old holiday
tradition continues to grow more popular in Austin each season.
