Register Today for Free January Oral History Workshop
Austin and Austinites during World War II
Registration Limited to First 40 Registrants
On Saturday, January 28, 2006, the Austin History Center Association and the Texas Historical Commission are co-hosting a workshop for the public from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Austin History Center Reception Room. There is no charge, but the workshop is limited to 40 persons, and reservations are required.
Titled “Voice of World War II in Texas,” the workshop will train attendees to conduct oral histories relating to the war years in Austin and Travis County. Presenters include: Dan K. Utley, Chief Historian, Texas Historical Commission; William A. McWhorter, Military History Sites Coordinator, Texas Historical Commission; and Cynthia J. Beeman, Director, History Programs Division, Texas Historical Commission. Register by emailing sharmyn.lilly@ahca.net or by calling 974-7383 to register, leaving the name(s) of the persons attending, email addresses, and telephone numbers. The first 40 members to register will be confirmed.
