Why:
Benefit for the Austin Public Library
The first concert PKWproductions gave for the Library, combining music and literature, was a rousing success that everyone gave a grade of A. For the next event, PKWproductions and the Friends of the Austin Public Library offer a B theme. "Basses, Beethoven and Books" will bring you world premieres of music written by two-time Pulitzer nominee P. Kellach Waddle on Beowulf, Sonnets by E. B. Browning and E. Bronte's "Wuthering Heights." Each piece is accompanied by a mini-lecture about each of these warhorses of literature. Preceding this will be a mini-concert of the music of Ludwig Van Beethoven with an accent on the low end -- with three transcriptions of LVB's music that feature the double bass on the program.
Join PKWproductions and the Friends for what's promising to be another entertaining evening combining music and literature, with part of the proceeds going to the Austin Public Library.
