www.cityofaustin.org/library/databases.htm
Austin Public Library customers have free access to more than 27,000 eBooks from NetLibrary. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission has made these eBooks available to Texans through their local libraries. eBooks are full-text electronic versions of published books that library customers can search and read over the Internet. eBooks are available for readers of all interests and ages. Use NetLibrary when the Library is closed, when your teacher requires a book for a paper, or when the Library doesn't have a book on your subject.
Readers can search across the entire NetLibrary eBook collection by author, title, or keyword, and then search within books for keywords and phrases. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language is embedded into NetLibrary eBooks enabling readers to access a definition, visual, or verbal pronunciation simply by highlighting a word.
To use NetLibrary at home or at the office, you must first create a NetLibrary user account from the following Austin Public Library Web page: www.cityofaustin.org/library/d_netl.htm. Austin Public Library Cardholders can create the account from their home or office computers. Once you have created an account, you can access NetLibrary through the Internet anytime anywhere.
Anyone can search and read NetLibrary eBooks at any Library location.
To find out more call 974-7400, or stop by any library location for more information.
