Meet the Author Program@Hampton Branch at Oak Hill

On Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 7 p.m. the Hampton Branch at Oak Hill, 5125 Convict Hill Road in southwest Austin will host true crime writer, Diane Fanning. Her newest release Gone Forever: A True Story of Marriage, Betrayal and Murder will be the featured book of the program. The book is the true story of the life and death of Southwestern Bell Corporation manager and mother of three young boys. Diane has finished writing Baby Be Mine about the Bobbie Jo Stinnett/Lisa Montgomery case in Missouri and Kansas. Also completed is Under the Knife a true story about the phony Doctor, Dean Faiello and his victim, Maria Cruz; and Bite the Moon, a mystery novel set in the Texas Hill Country introducing Chemistry teacher turned investigator Molly Mullet. She is currently working on the true story of preacher's wife Mary Winkler accused of killing her husband in Selmer, Tennessee.

Following the reading and discussion there will be a book signing and sale sponsored by the Friends of the Austin Public Library, proceeds from the book sale benefit the Austin Public Library. For additional information, please call (512) 974-7400 or visit www.cityofaustin.org/library.

About the Author

Diane Fanning photo

Diane spent more than a dozen years working in non-profit and has served, by the Governor's appointment, for three terms on the State Advisory Committee for the State Employee Charitable Campaign. She also served as Vice President on the Executive Committee of the Writer's League of Texas and on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for Choice and Giving (NACG), and Community Shares-USA. Diane is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the Heart of Texas Chapter of Sisters in Crime. She is the recipient of the 2001 NACG Freedom Fighter Award. Diane Fanning was born in Baltimore, Maryland, lived more than two decades in Virginia and now lives in New Braunfels, Texas.
