Please join us September 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Hampton Branch at Oak Hill, 5125 Convict Hill Rd, for an evening of reading and discussion of My Weapon is My Pen by author Raúl Salinas.
About the Author
Born in San Antonio and raised in East Austin, raúlsalinas has come to be regarded as one of today’s most important Chicano poets and human rights activist. The author will be here to discuss his latest publication, raúlsalinas and the Jail Machine: My Weapon is My Pen. It is a collection of his letters and articles written while incarcerated that document not only his growth and change but also provides a different perspective on the prison rebellion movement and how it related to the civil rights and anti-war movements of the era.
