Altered Books@APL
Question: Just what is an altered book, you ask?
Answer: You take an old book:
- color in, on, and over it
- paint over the pages
- paste in photos, magazine clippings, threads, sequins, etc.,
- make pockets of its pages
The goal is to alter its appearance in any other way you like,
turning it into a new kind of verbal expression.
If you’re a teen, aged 12-17, we hope you’ll come and alter a book of your very own. One part recycling, one part creativity, and fun all over, this program represents a rare opportunity to come to the library and be encouraged to ravage a volume in the interests of self-expression and renewal.
