On Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. the Austin Public Library will host Mexican-American author, Roberto de Haro. A scholar-activist, he is a retired professor and senior-level university executive. Author of four novels, he will talk about his latest novels, The Mexican Chubasco and Jolene’s Last Gasp: A Novel of Dreams Denied. The Mexican Chubasco is a fascinating first-person narrative about a Mexican engineer/ soldier and his separation from his country as he travels to Europe and North America. Jolene’s Last Gasp is a thrilling, fast-paced mystery that will keep the reader guessing until the very last pages. The program will take place in downtown Austin at the Austin History Center, 810 Guadalupe . A book signing will follow the presentation and the program is free and open to the public. For additional information call (512) 974-7400 or visit www.cityofaustin.org/library.
