World Religion Workshops at the Hampton Branch at Oak Hill
World Religion Workshops by Farnaz Masumian take place at the Hampton Branch at Oak Hill, Austin Public Library in southwest Austin at 5125 Convict Hill Road. This series of workshops will provide an introduction to several eastern and western religions. The programs are free and open to the public. Monday, August 4, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.: Introduction to Islam and the Bahá’í Faith
Monday, August 11, 7:00 – 8:15 p.m.: Afterlife and Near-death experience in Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Islam, and the Bahá’í Faith
Monday, August 18, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.: Introduction to Meditation Techniques from both eastern (Hinduism and Buddhism), as well as, western (Islam and Sufism) religions
About Farnaz Masumian
Farnaz Masumian is a Lecturer of Word Religions at the University of Texas at Austin. She has a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies with an emphasis in world religions. Her book Life After Death: A Study of the Afterlife in World Religions won first prize at the Beijing China Book Fair and has been translated into seven languages and adopted as a religion textbook in several colleges.
