'Sculpture Is' in the Library
'Sculpture Is' in the Library, takes place at the Oak Springs Branch, 3101 Oak Springs Dr. from September 20 to November 9. Come to the opening reception for the exhibit 'Sculpture Is' in the Library Saturday, September 20 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Artist, curator, and Austin Public Library staff member Carlos Brondo has brought together five very different local sculptors -- Jose Acosta, Aldo Valdez-Bohm, Ambray Gonzales, Steve Morris, and Hank Waddell, to share their work with the community. The staff at Oak Springs invite you to get inspired by these unique sculptures made of limestone, wood, clay, and metal. They also encourage area schools to bring their students and use the exhibit as catalyst for discussions about culture and diversity. The exhibit and opening reception are free and open to the public. For more information please call 512-926-4453 or visit www.cityofaustin.org/library.
Note: these are examples of the atrists' work, not the pieces that will be on display at Sculpture Is.
