Jeanette Larson Named New Youth Services Manager

Jeanette Larson will be joining Austin Public Library as the new Youth Services Manager in December 2000. She previously worked at the Texas State Library, most recently as Director of Library Development and prior to that as Manager of Continuing Education and Consulting.

Ms. Larson's professional accomplishments are many, and her work with the Texas Reading Club, the Texas Book Festival, the "Mother Goose Asks Why" program, and the Reach Out and Read program have already successfully influenced the Youth Services Program at APL. She has experience as a Children's Services Librarian as well as extensive community involvement with reading and education initiatives. The Texas Library Association voted her Librarian of the Year in 1998.
