The Mexican American Cultural Center Advisory Board
Purpose
Advise the City Council on the establishment and operation of the Mexican American Cultural Center. Cooperate with any civic and volunteer group organized to foster, promote, and sponsor the Mexican American Cultural Center. Section 2-1-162 of the City Code.

Maria Elena Ramirez


Maria Elena Ramirez joined the MACC Board in 2008 and during her time with us she was a bright, committed and inspiring board member. Maria Elena passed away August 19, 2009 at the age of 39. She was a producer and director in the entertainment field and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She will be missed at the MACC.

Mexican American Trailblazers Nominations
Submition Deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2009
The Austin History Center, Austin Public Library encourages everyone in the community to submit nominations of Mexican Americans who, despite obstacles, courageously forged ahead and set an example for future generations in the Austin and Travis County area.

The Mexican American Trailbrazers exhibit will be displayed at the Austin History Center from August 2010 to January 2011. There will also be a traveling exhibit beginning in September 2010 at the Mexican American Cultural Center and continues from there to other locations.
