Fit City Sports opens at Austin City Hall

Fashion meets function at Fit City Sports, a new retail outlet now open at the southeast corner of Second and Guadalupe streets at Austin City Hall.

Fit City sells lifestyle fitness apparel and running shoes for men and women. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

In January, the Austin City Council authorized negotiations with RunTex to open Fit City. The store is expected to generate revenue for the City through lease payments and the collection of sales tax on items sold.

The retail outlet also is expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the 2nd Street Retail District.

A formal store grand opening for Fit City Sports is expected later this month.
