Police Monitor to conduct community meeting

Austin Police Monitor Cliff Brown will host a community meeting Thursday, April 10, to present the mission and services of his office. The public is encouraged to attend.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Thurmond Heights Community Center, 8426 Goldfinch Court, a block west of the North Lamar Boulevard/ Thurmond Street intersection and just south of Payton Gin Road.

The Office of Police Monitor oversees the investigation of complaints from the public regarding police misconduct. Through community meetings and additional outreach efforts, the Office of Police Monitor works to facilitate the promotion of mutual respect between the police and the public, while enhancing the public’s confidence in the Austin Police Department.
