GOALS STATEMENT:

The goal of the master plan is to return the site to its former glory, where the water was cleaner and the experience of the pool was more enjoyable.

  • What are the non-government programs and activities focused on the interpretation of the Springs at Barton’s?

Topographic Land Survey Set to Begin Soon. SAM Inc. will be working in and around BSP in the coming weeks to complete a topographic survey of the grounds. Information from this survey is vital for several other short-term projects to commence. (added October 29, 2008)

Tree Assessment Set to Begin in November. Davey Resource Group will be working to do a thorough and comprehensive assessment of approximately 45 trees around BSP. Assessment will include a radar image of the tree trunks and larger branches to determine whether weak points exist within the trees. Work should be completed by mid-December. Results will be presented to the joint subcommittee of the Parks and Recreation Board and Environmental Board, and to the public once the report is complete. PARD Forestry will utilize the results to determine the best course of action regarding the most critical trees. (added October 29, 2008)
