Tournament Information
The City of Austin golf program has a long tradition of affordable quality golf. Many great players such as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw could be found playing round after round of golf during their youth and as young adults.
Annual memberships are available for golfers to puchase that give special playing privileges at all five (5) of the City of Austin Public Golf Courses (Roy Kizer, Jimmy Clay, Lions, Morris Williams & Hancock)
This storied history began in 1934 when the City assumed operation
of Lions Municipal Golf Course from the
Lions Club of Austin. This delightfully classic course is part of a
golf system that included in the city's golf system is Hancock Golf Course, a course built in
1899, the original home of the Austin Country Club. Each year
Hancock Golf Course hosts the
Austin Junior Golf Academy,
a high quality golf instruction program for youth 8-18. Additional
opportunities available to the junior golfer include the Recreation
Center Golf Program and the Summer Junior Golf Tournament series.
Morris Williams Golf Course
for many years served as the home of the University of Texas golf
teams. Jimmy Clay Golf Course designed
by noted golf course Architect, Joe Finger, and Roy Kizer Golf
Course, Austin's premier course, make up a 36 hole complex that
feature Austin newest courses.
The 5 golf courses are
located throughout the City of Austin.
