Volunteer
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for a few good volunteers. You may chose to volunteer one time, once a week or join the department major volunteer program and Adopt a Park.

The department Adopt-a-park program was created to provide an opportunity for neighborhoods to adopt the park in their community e-mail us for more information or complete and submit an application.

Our nature preserve program relies on volunteers to assit in in maintaining the vast inventory of natural areas. To volunteer or register your organization for a specific volunteer event e-mail us or call (512) 327-7723

Teens helping other kids. This is one of the perks of being a PARDner working with the Summer Playground Program. PARDners is a summer youth volunteer program aimed at teens from 13 to 16 years old.

Volunteer to Conserve Wildlife Habitat In Your Community
Join National Wildlife Federation’s nationwide team of volunteers who serve their communities as Habitat Stewards! City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department and Travis Audubon Society annually host a specialized training to teach you how to help others create and restore wildlife habitat in backyards, schoolyards and other private and public areas. This training is offered through the City’s Wildlife Austin program.

The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center welcomes all individuals and groups interested in volunteering. Whether it be escorting visitors through our galleries, assisting at an event, or just helping out around the offices, your time and support will help make the Carver Museum an even greater success!

Volunteer with our partner the Town Lake Trail Foundation - the Town Lake Trail Foundation is dedicated to expand, improve, beautify and maintain the scenic hike and bike trail that shadows the Colorado River as it flows through Austin, Texas.
