Cause of Death: Blunt Force Trama

Motive: Unknown

On August 10, 1997 Austin police officers responded to a call for assistance at the Bel Aire Motel located at 3412 S. Congress, Austin, TX. Upon arrival, officers found the body of the victim, William Colbert, lying on the floor of one of the rooms. It appeared that the victim had been badly beaten.

Officers found that the motel room occupied by the victim was sparsely furnished. There were a few items of personal nature within the room, and some trash. Various items were collected for evidentiary purposes.

Robbery is a possible motive in the death of William Colbert. Drugs may have been involved.
