Insecticides
Residents of the City of Austin and Travis County should take household quantities of herbicides free of charge to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Empty containers should be put in the trash. They are not recyclable. Avoid having to dispose of insecticides by buying only what you need.
Insulation
Solid Waste Services cannot collect insulation. If it's in reusable condition, you may be able to donate it to the Habitat for Humanity RE-Store. You may also be able to dispose of insulation at local landfills for a fee.
