| Program Overview
Austin Water Utility is rehabilitating wastewater infrastructure in the neighborhoods along the intersection of Airport
Boulevard and Chesterfield Avenue. Most of the sanitary sewer pipes in this area, known as the Upper Waller Creek drainage
basin, are constructed of clay and concrete and are undersized or approaching the end of their useful life. CAS Consulting
& Services, the contractor for this project, has also confirmed that the sewer interceptors are inadequate to handle future
water flows during peak wet weather periods.
