Volunteers participate in a wide-variety of activities on the City of Austin Wildlands.
Wildland Conservation Division staff schedules monthly volunteer projects, or MVPs,
typically on a Saturday or Sunday for 4-6 hours. MVPs are typically outdoor activities
that contribute to land management goals and can include restoration, exotic plant removal,
seed collection, and trash removal, and more. Many of the volunteer projects take place in
natural areas surprisingly close to town, allowing volunteers to experience the wilds of
Austin without packing a tent. Additionally, projects arise where staff may need special
assistance, such as a certain expertise or finding someone to help over a period of time.
To sign up to be a volunteer with the Division, either as an individual or group, please click

Environmental Conservation Information Specialist the
coordinator of the Division's volunteer program or call him at (512) 972-1682.
