Welcome to the City of Austin's Water Protection Program (Program Overview). Our program administers local, state and federal regulations with three primary objectives:

Protect the public water supply and the health & safety of those that use it; Prevent unauthorized uses of and damage to fire hydrants to ensure reliable fire suppression capabilities; and Maintain compliance with all applicable federal state and local laws and regulations.
