Commercial WashWise Rebate Program
Commercial and multi-family properties may be eligible for rebates of up to $250 per machine when installing water-
and energy-saving coin-operated machines selected
from our list of approved models (see Rebate Application Form). Non-coin-operated models may be eligible
under the Residential WashWise Rebate Program. No rebate will be given to replace existing
front-loading machines.
The $250 rebate is separated into a water and energy component. To qualify for the $150 water rebate, customers must receive water from Austin Water Utility or an eligible MUD.
An additional $100 rebate is available to customers with gas water heat, Texas Gas Service, and one of the qualifying rate codes as listed on the application form.
To qualify, customers must receive water from Austin Water Utility or an eligible MUD. To apply, complete
and submit the Letter of Intent. A staff member will contact you to confirm your eligibility.
When installation is complete, customers should submit the rebate application with a copy of the sales receipt
or selected sections of the lease agreement documenting the lease term, installation
date, and the name and address of the parties of record.
Laundry Water Reuse and Reduction Incentives
The City offers a rebate towards the purchase of ozone and water reuse equipment.
The amount of the rebate is based on the amount of water saved, equal to one dollar
per gallon of water saved per day or half the cost of the equipment, whichever is less.
For example, if you install a laundry ozone or water reuse system that reduces
water use by 6,000 gallons per day, the rebate will be $6,000.00 towards the
purchase of the equipment. The maximum rebate is $40,000.00.
The State of Texas also offers tax incentives for this type of equipment.
Ozone laundry systems and laundry water reuse systems are exempt from sales
tax and in many cases from property tax. To learn more about these incentives,
