Apartment complexes and multifamily properties that are customers of Austin Water Utility or a
qualifying water district are eligible to receive rebates for up to three water efficient
toilets per living unit through our Toilet Replacement Program. You must agree to replace all eligible toilets in a building
or property to participate.
Pre-application is required to make sure both the property and the toilets you intend to purchase will qualify.

IMPORTANT PROGRAM UPDATE
The Free Toilet Program has been such a success that it has exhausted its contract ahead of schedule.
As a result, the program will be suspended at the end of July. A request for a new contract will go to City Council
in the new budget year (October). We will accept applications for your free high efficiency toilet (HET) until July 31
or until we run out of the remaining toilets, whichever occurs first. The vouchers must be redeemed within 10 days of receipt.

The Free Toilet Program offers round-bowl Niagara Ecologic HETs -- high-efficiency toilets that use only 1.28 gallons per flush.
Elongated-bowl, 17" ADA toilets are available for an additional
charge of $21.10+ tax per toilet, payable to the supplier at pickup. Additionally,
a $60 per toilet installation rebate is available when toilets are installed by a licensed plumber.
The Free Toilet Program requires pre-application and approval before old toilets are removed. For

The Toilet Rebate Program offers rebates for qualifying tank-type toilet replacements, up to the maximum per-toilet amounts below.
New toilets must be certified under EPA's WaterSense labeling program.
Only WaterSense toilets are eligible for rebates. The Toilet Rebate Program requires pre-application before old toilets are removed to make
sure both the property and the new toilet models qualify.
- Replacing pre-1996 toilets with qualifying HET models -- up to $200 rebate per toilet
- Replacing 1.6 gpf toilets with qualifying HETs -- up to $50 rebate per toilet
- Installing HETs in new construction -- up to $50 rebate per toilet
