Rebate Application Tips

Help us speed the processing of your application by avoiding these common mistakes and omissions!             Jump to Hints for Toilet Rebates

Clothes Washer Rebates

Account Number: We need the account number for the installation address. We can look it up if you don't have it handy, but providing the correct number is helpful. If you have a provider other Austin Energy, Austin Water or Texas Gas, please note that next to the account number.

Applicant Name: Please print ONE name exactly as it should appear on the rebate check. This is also the person we'll contact for inspection or additional information. The name does not have to match the name on the bill.

Phone Numbers: Your application will be rejected without at least one valid contact number.

Water Heat: Please circle the type of water heat you have (gas or electric). This is the most common omission from applications; we cannot process your application without it.

Serial Number: On most new machines, you can find the serial number inside the door. Applications without a valid serial number will require an inspection. If you're not certain which of several numbers is your serial number, please call our office at 974-2199. We do not offer rebates for dryers, and do not need that information.

City Use Only: Even though it asks for "customer signature" and "estimated rebate," please leave this section blank. We use it in processing and verification inspections.

Receipt: Please include a COPY of your store receipt showing purchase date, model number purchased and cost. A summary receipt or copy of your credit card statement is not acceptable. Home Depot customers, please include your "special services" receipt if you received one. Staple or securely clip receipts to the BACK of your application, and make certain they show your name and address in case they become separated from your application.

Toilet Rebates

Toilet Make/Model: Please write in the type of toilet you installed. Model numbers are not necessary, but we do need the complete name, e.g. Crane Galaxy Elite II, or Caroma Caravelle. You must install one of the toilets on our rebate list to qualify -- not all 1.6gpf toilets are eligible for a rebate.

City Use Only: Even though it asks for "customer signature" and "estimated rebate," please leave this section blank. We use it in processing and verification inspections.

Plumber's Receipt: If a licensed plumber installed your toilet, please include a COPY of the installation receipt showing the work done/items purchased and cost breakdown for each. Make sure the receipt shows the installation address and the plumber's license number. Staple or clip securely to the back of your application.
